We're glad you're interested in joining
the California Municipal Utilities Association, the
association that's been representing California's
consumer-owned utilities for over half a century.
CMUA monitors the activities of regulatory agencies, presents testimony and participates in rulemaking on behalf of its utility members. We also follow legislation on a day-to-day basis, and our legislative committee meets monthly. Other CMUA committees are active throughout the year as well: commercial activities, energy efficiency, transmission access, public affairs, water reclamation, and telecommunications.
Regular, utility
membership is open to cities, county water districts, irrigation districts,
municipal utility districts, public utility
districts, metropolitan water districts and joint
powers agencies.
Associate membership (either corporate or individual) is open to others that do not qualify for utility membership.
If you have further questions about membership
in CMUA, please contact us at (916)
