The mission of the Telecommunications Committee is to advance digital telecommunications opportunities for CMUA members by providing a forum of information exchange to pursue the following goals:
1. Share and exchange all information pertaining to municipal digital telecommunications and fiber optic development, with specific emphasis on technological feasibility, legislative and regulatory concerns, and implementation issues.
2. Develop a coordinated approach to identify and evaluate digital telecommunication opportunities for publicly-owned utilities, including:
Meetings
The Committee, currently chaired by Ed Aghjayan of Anaheim Public Utilities District, meets on a quarterly basis with each meeting at a location readily accessible to committee members.
Members
The Telecommunications Committee comprises utility members and Associate Members.
Members: Representatives of municipal utilities who play a key role in their respective agency's telecommunications development program.Comments & QuestionsAssociate Members: Representatives of firms or agencies who have significant interests in the telecommunications industry. Typical associate members might include telecommunications contractors, vendors, financial consultants, etc.
The Committee continues to evaluate innovative and practical ways to provide support to all agencies in their digital telecommunications pursuits.
