The California Resources Agency has released its “State of the State Wetlands Report.” The report includes a number of recommendations for increasing the protection of California wetlands, which include riparian and upland riparian habitats.

Newly formed California Water Commission set to meet on Sept. 28
The newly-appointed California Water Commission will hold its first meeting on September 28 in Sacramento. It will focus on an introduction to the roles and responsibilities of the Commission as well as an overview of recently passed water legislation, California Water Plan Update 2009 and other projects of interest.” Here is a link for more information: http://cwc.ca.gov/.
- Delta Independent Science Board (ISB) Inaugural Meeting

The new Delta Independent Science Board (ISB) comprised of 10 nationally
and internationally prominent scientists will hold its first meeting Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
During the initial public meeting, the Delta ISB charge will be given and the
Delta ISB Chair and Vice-Chair will be elected. Additionally, there will be a
Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP) Panel discussion and an update from the
National Research Council Committee on Sustainable Water and Environmental

- Delta Stewardship Council Workgroup Announcement: Governance and Implementation Workgroup
- State Water Resources Control Board Releases Draft Delta Flow Criteria Report
The Delta Stewardship Council invites the public to participate in the first of a series of workgroup meetings on the topic of Governance and Implementation in support of the development of the Interim Plan and the Delta Plan.

The State Water Resources Control Board (Board) was directed to develop new flow criteria to protect public trust resources for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta) ecosystem, under Water Code section 85086. The Board is also required to submit its flow criteria determinations to the Delta Stewardship Council within 30 days of their development. The draft report is tentatively scheduled for consideration by the Board on Tuesday, August 3, 2010.
The Board will consider oral comments at the Board meeting. If you want the Board to consider written comments prior to the meeting, they must be received by 12:00 Noon on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Procedures for submitting written comments are described in the Notice of Availability shown below.
