CMUA Expands Role of Senior Director of Energy Policy & Strategy
The California Municipal Utilities Association is pleased to announce that Patrick Welch has been promoted to Senior Director of Energy Policy & Strategy. In this expanded role, he will oversee all energy policy work of the association, including legislative and regulatory policy functions. Patrick started with CMUA in December 2017 as the Legislative Director for Energy.
“Patrick has eagerly taken on more responsibility over time in all aspects of energy policy and strategy, so this is a natural progression,” said Barry Moline, executive director. “He’s involved in so many energy issues and connects the dots on a wide range of issues. CMUA members will greatly benefit from his expanded role.”
Patrick joined CMUA in 2017. He holds a master’s degree in public administration (MPA) from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
