About Capitol Day

CMUA’s Capitol Day is where members join together to jointly advocate on behalf of California’s publicly owned utilities and water agencies.

You are in the best position to talk with legislators about the direct impact of state actions on your community.

We need you to participate in CMUA’s advocacy efforts, learn more about trends and priorities, and meet face-to-face with state lawmakers on the big issues California’s publicly owned electric utilities and water agencies will confront in 2019.

Who Should Attend

  • Leaders and staff of community-owned electric utilities and water agencies
  • Mayors, city council and board members
  • Affiliated persons who support CMUA members to advocate for the concerns of community-owned electric utilities and water agencies

Make Our Voices Heard

As an advocate of community-owned utilities, you are in the best position to talk to the legislators and policymakers about the direct impact of state action on the people you serve at the local level.

Together through CMUA, our coordinated outreach efforts are strengthened because you represent not only your community, but also the 28 million Californians served by CMUA-member water agencies and 10 million served by public power agencies.

At Capitol Day, CMUA provides the resources, connections and collective power to make sure the strong voices of community-owned electric utilities and water agencies are heard in Sacramento. This is a popular event with many CMUA members joining together to deliver our important messages on behalf of our communities.
