Recognized as an industry leader, the Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is the water, wastewater service, and recycled water provider to more than 855,000 people within a 555-square mile service area in Riverside County, CA. EMWD has a strong governance model; its Board of Directors and employees are well-aligned, and its finances and credit ratings are strong. EMWD currently imports approximately half of its water supply. It is advancing multiple innovative and industry-leading projects including solar technology, brine management, groundwater desalination, and a proposed indirect potable reuse program to reduce its reliance on imported water and reduce operating costs.
The ideal candidate is an outstanding team leader and mentor, strategic, excellent communicator, collaborative, results-oriented, confident, creative, hard-working, and highly ethical. This person will have in-depth knowledge about the Southern California water industry and at least 10 years of progressively responsible executive or management experience in the operation and maintenance of a large, complex public utility. An advanced degree is desirable but not required.
