Administrative Assistant
The Yuba Water Agency is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the Administrative Team. Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will be adaptable, collaborative, and innovative.  The ideal candidate will enjoy performing a variety of duties, interacting with other staff and community members, and working in a dynamic environment at the agency’s main facility in Marysville.

  • Experience providing technical support
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Teams

  • Ability to create custom forms, flyers, and brochures
Typical Tasks
  • Ensures office coverage during business hours and assists in a variety of administrative duties including, but not limited to, file management, data input and tracking, record keeping, report generation, correspondence, processing incoming and outgoing mail, scheduling appointments, running routine errands, and arranging meetings, tours and special events.
  • Acts as the initial point of contact for the Agency, serving as a receptionist, greeting visitors and the general public, responding to inquiries and/or directing individuals to the appropriate area or assist with information.
  • Answers the telephone, taking messages, screening calls, and determining the nature and priority of calls.
  • Disseminates a variety of information via telephone, mail, emails, and facsimile.
  • Schedules appointments, meeting, and makes meeting room reservations, at the request of staff.
  • Prepares the conference room(s) for meetings, when needed.
  • Assists and supports purchasing and maintaining inventory, ordering office suppliers, and maintaining purchasing records.
  • Creates documents, spreadsheets and presentations using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Retrieves, opens, date-stamps, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.
  • Photocopies, scans, sorts and collates a variety of materials for staff.
  • Assists in the gathering of information for the public records requests and works on other projects, as requested.
  • Operates and maintains a variety of office machines and equipment including personal computers, networked printers, fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, stamping and labeling machines and shredders.

Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Education/Training
Education/Training: High school diploma/GED equivalent. Previous experience in an office environment and/or providing as administrative or technical support is highly desired.
Experience: Must possess excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and computer skills is preferred.
License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate, valid California Driver’s License.

  • Health Insurance: 1-party is $1,057.01, 2-party is $2,114.02, and 3+party is $2,748.23 per month. Any premiums in excess of the amounts shall be paid by the employee.
  • Dental: 100% paid coverage for employee and dependents
  • Vision: 100% paid coverage for employee and dependents
  • Vacation: Accrued at 12.6 hours per calendar month and increases with years of service
  • Sick Leave: Accrued at 10 hours per calendar month
  • Holidays: 12 official holidays per year
  • Retirement: CalPERS: For classic members 2% @ 55 formula and the agency will pay 5% of the employee’s 7% contribution to CalPERS. For all others, subject to the provisions of AB340 with a 2%@ 62 formula
  • Retiree health through the agency upon completion of ten (10) years of service credit with the agency and retirement from CalPERS. The agency’s present contribution for each annuitant, including enrollment of his/her family members, is a maximum of $1,850 per month.
  • Deferred Compensation: Voluntary participation in Agency Plans. The agency will contribute 7.65% amount towards the plan.
  • Life Insurance: $50,000
  • Educational/training tuition reimbursement available
