CMUA Member Communications Toolkit for Public Power. Public Water. Public Good.

The CMUA Member Communications Toolkit for the Public Power. Public Water. Public Good. campaign is now available—and it's packed with resources to help you tell the public power and water story in your own community.
This campaign and its microsite connectwithcmua.org are about more than advertising. It's about equipping you to educate your customers, engage local media, and make the case to policymakers and the public about the value of community-owned, not-for-profit utilities. The toolkit does the heavy lifting, so your team doesn't have to start from scratch.
What's Available
The toolkit includes a full suite of ready-to-use, customizable materials:
- Sample News Release: Announce your participation in the campaign to local print, broadcast, and online media [.docx download]
- Sample Blog Post: A fully drafted, stat-rich post ready to publish on your website or e-newsletter [.docx download]
- Social Media Posts: Platform-specific posts for LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Facebook covering affordability, reliability, community investment, and clean energy and water resiliency [.docx download]
- Graphics and Visuals: Co-brand with your utility's logo and mix and match a variety of graphics sized for use online, on social media, and in print. [Dropbox file download -- 75 MB file size]
- Educational PDFs: Eight issue briefs on topics ranging from how rates are set and the advantages of the publicly owned utility model, to tailored "10 Things" guides written specifically for customers, policymakers, and journalists [.docx download]
- Videos: Nine short- and long-form videos covering what publicly owned utilities and CMUA are, California's water and energy future, and climate resiliency—perfect for your website, social channels, or community presentations [.docx download]
All written and visual materials include simple placeholders and/or white space so that you can quickly customize them with your utility's name, logo, community, and local details.
